About B.O.W.I
Brook of Olives Women Initiatives is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women, especially widows and those in troubled relationships. Our work focuses on:
Eliminating negative cultural practices: Advocating for the abolition of harmful widowhood traditions that perpetuate oppression and inequality.
Providing Counseling Services: Offering emotional and psychological support to women in difficult relationships or transitioning through widowhood.
Facilitating Couple’s Retreats: Strengthening relationships and fostering mutual understanding between couples through tailored programs.
Raising Awareness: Educating communities about the adverse effects of traditional widowhood practices and promoting positive cultural change.
Creating Empowerment Opportunities: Developing skills, resources, and platforms to enable widows and women to rebuild their lives and achieve self-sufficiency.

Launch free or low-cost counseling services for widows and women in troubled relationships.
Host the first annual couple’s retreat to strengthen relationships and encourage open communication.
Create an online/onsite support network for widows to share experiences and access resources.
Our long term goals
Advocate for and influence legislative reforms to outlaw harmful widowhood practices.
Establish resource centers offering education, vocational training, and financial assistance for widows.
Build partnerships with like-minded organizations to expand reach and impact.
